Welcome to Hephra! These Terms of Service ("Terms') govern your use of the Hephra mobile application ("App") operated by Hephra, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our").
By downloading or using Hephra, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
Hephra is an educational math tutoring application designed for students in grades K-9. The App uses artificial intelligence to help students learn math by guiding them through problems step-by-step, with optional voice read-aloud support.
Eligibility and Parental Consent
Hephra is designed for students ages 5-15. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use the App. Parents or guardians who allow their children to use Hephra agree to these Terms on their behalf.
Account and Usage
The App creates an anonymous identifier for your device to track usage limits
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device
You agree not to misuse the service or attempt to bypass usage limits
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Subscriptions and Payments
Free Tier: Limited to 3 math problems per day.
Paid Subscription: Offers expanded access with a 7-day free trial.
Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings
Refunds: All refund requests must be made through Apple. We do not process refunds directly.
Educational Purpose and Limitations
Hephra is designed to teach problem-solving skills, not provide answers
The App may occasionally produce errors in math explanations
Hephra should supplement, not replace, classroom instruction
We do not guarantee specific educational outcomes
Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
Use the App for commercial tutoring services without permission
Attempt to reverse-engineer or copy the App's AI technology
Submit inappropriate, offensive, or non-math content through the camera
Share your subscription access with others
Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, content, and AI technology, is owned by Hephra, Inc.
You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App
User-submitted photos are processed temporarily and not stored
Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy at https://www.hephratools.com/privacy-policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use information.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:
The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
Math explanations will always be correct
The App will meet your specific educational needs
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Hephra, Inc. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Loss of data or educational progress
Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the subscription in the past 12 months
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Termination
You may stop using the App at any time
We may terminate or suspend your access for violations of these Terms
Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
