  • We do not collect audio or video recordings (only still photos of math problems)

  • We do not collect or store audio recordings

  • We do not use cookies or tracking pixels

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

  1. Provide the Service - Process photos of math problems and generate step-by-step tutoring

  2. Manage Accounts - Create and maintain parent accounts and child profiles

  3. Enforce Usage Limits - Track daily problem counts to enforce free tier limits

  4. Improve the App - Analyze crash reports to fix bugs and improve stability

  5. Communicate - Send account verification emails and important service updates

We do not use children's personal information for:

  • Marketing or advertising

  • Creating user profiles for purposes unrelated to the educational service

  • Selling to third parties

Data Retention

Parental Rights Under COPPA

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:

  1. Review Your Child's Information - You can view all information associated with your child's profile in the App's Settings screen.

  2. Delete Your Child's Information - You can delete your account and all associated child data at any time. This permanently deletes all parent account data, child profiles, usage history, and device sessions:

    1. Open the App

    2. Go to Settings

    3. Tap "Delete Account"

    4. Confirm Deletion

  3. Refuse Further Collection - You can stop all data collection by:

    1. Deleting your account (see above)

    2. Uninstalling the App

  4. Request Information - To request a copy of your child's personal information or ask questions about our data practices, contact us at james@hephratools.com

Consent Process

Before any data collection occurs, we require:

  1. Parent email verification - We send a confirmation email to verify the parent's identity

  2. Explicit consent checkbox - Parents must check a box confirming they consent to data collection

  3. COPPA consent recording - We record the consent timestamp and IP address as required by law

Children cannot use the camera or any data-collecting features until a parent completes this process.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)

  • Secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase, Vercel)

  • Row-level security in our database

  • No storage of photos after processing

  • Authentication required for all account access

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share children's personal information, we will:

  1. Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

  2. Notify parents via the email address on file

  3. Require re-consent if the changes are significant

International Users

Hephra is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located.
